The Class Am 843 is based on the diesel-hydraulic standard locomotives of the type G 1700-2 BB from the Kiel rail vehicle manufacturer Vossloh. But, in contrast to the standard version, is designed for left-hand traffic in Switzerland by arranging the control panels, front doors and exhaust chimney in mirror symmetry. They also have a front railing with fenders and built-in headlights. |
