Album Info:This unit was a regular on the night local out of Akron from the first time I worked that job in 1968 till the job was abolished in 1975. From April 1 1973 until March of 1975, I was the conductor on the job and I had a key to it, so in essence it was my caboose. I lost track of it until a few years ago a fellow rrpa author Steve Corragio sent me a link to where she had moved too. Come with me and see her, but bring your umbrella.

ERIE C254 and I shared some great experiences.
Title:  ERIE C254 and I shared some great experiences.
Description:  Saw my only Northern Lights from her back porch, also a field so full of fireflies that my flagman and I agreed that we had never seen anything like it. Or the night that my flagman was very much in mortal danger for fooling with another man's wife. However the jealous husband had been drinking and fell asleep while waiting to catch them together. It's awesome that she survived Conrail's purge of all things EL. Thank you Rochester & Genesee Railroad Museum for adopting her. A further point of interest is that for most of her tenure on that local, she was being pulled by an Alco S2.
