CN 2-8-0 #1874 - Canadian National
Title:  CN 2-8-0 #1874 - Canadian National
Description:  Sad sight to see this 2-8-0 Consolidation sitting in the CN scrap line. Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company in 1903 as an ICR locomotive (unknown number). In 1913, it was renumbered CGR #74 and later renumbered CN 1874 in 1919. Its serial number was 541 and class M-4-f. The loco was finally retired and scrapped in June if 1939. This may very well be the last photo that was taken of it before the scrapper's torch. No photographer, location or exact date was given for the photo. Not sure why the RRPA database will not allow me to add this loco to the data base - hence the blank listing under locomotives.

The "Spirit of Kamloops" preparing to board passengers. Only 263 miles to Vancouver! We shall travel but 3 1/2 miles to the CN mainline and back, nevertheless a most enjoyable journey and extremely well presented by the volunteer staff.

CN 2-8-0 # 2185 - Canadian National
Title:  CN 2-8-0 # 2185 - Canadian National
Description:  Waiting for the approaching yardman, the engineer waits expectantly at the cab window. This 1912 Canadian Locomotive Company Consolidation-type locomotive looks sharp on this cold February day in Canada. The M-5-a class loco could produce a respectable 40,420 lb tractive effort. Note on the back by photographer Mendel Greenblatt states "Works at Campbellton", which is some 300 km away.
