US Army trackage  Contributor's Pick!
The sign for Kelly, MO and the trackage there. This branch, owned by the US Army, was built by Frisco in 1941 as the Ft. Wood Branch - it runs from Bundy Junction (not quite 2 miles West of Newburg) to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. It is approx. 20 miles long, with the longest straight stretch being 2,700 feet long - it was necessary to incorporate 70 curves into this branch because of the terrain. It was built at a cost of approximately $2,500,000.
