My mother called the other evening a to inform me that a friend of hers had given me an interesting gift and so here it is. Ms. Fryes late husband was a noted photography along with a partner of his by the name of Lupton Kaylor, who took the photograph. There is a name on the back which reads, D.L. Thomas. Ms. Frye told my dad that he was the President of the Valley R.R. at the time of this picture was taken. Im not sure if he is in this photograph? My dad was not sure when the picture was taken. He has lived here in Harrisonburg since 1929 but has no recollection of the Valley R.R. He does however remember watching the steam engines coming through on The Chesapeake & Western! I did some browsing and ran accross this link on The Valley R.R. http://www.abandonedrailroads.com/va_vrr_staunton_to_lexington.htm |
