Marty Myers General A U-Boat, perhaps? 8/21/2005 6:44:02 PM
Patrick Harris General This is a Central Michigan unit (Lord knows why it's in KC), and if memory serves is an X-MP U23B. 8/21/2005 7:24:39 PM
Gregg Pullano General The reason it was in Kansas City, was that it was supposed to be SCRAPPED. 12/11/2005 8:09:17 PM
Patrick Harris General Not according to Dave Cenci, who said "the 8904 was just sold to a locomotive dealer out west", which would explain why it was not remarked, white-lined. Instead, it was traveling with an SD40 and a switcher to the dealer. Hell, the unit served for 16 years on the CM after its service on the MP and UP rosters. Darned impressive for a toaster. 12/25/2005 11:09:38 AM
Patrick Caauwe General this unit is indeed a U23B and a former MP unit. I am currently trying to save its sister unit, the 8902 twho was recabbed with an EMD cab 5/29/2006 11:56:43 PM
Zach Pumphery General It's still in Kansas City, and it's not scrapped, it belongs to Midwest Locomotive Services. 1/15/2009 4:11:19 PM
