| AMARILLO TX July 6 1986 -- Santa Fe GP35u 2888 leads a covered hopper train on the Transcon. The 2888 started life in June 1965 as ATSF 1388 (s/n 30102) in blue with yellow ends. It was renumbered to 3388 as part of the general renumbering and gained yellow warbonnet paint after nude June 1972. It was rebuilt by Santa Fe as a GP35u in April 1983.
