| From 2014 onwards a comprehensive modernization takes place for the 119 Re 460. The existing power electronic components on the inverter thyristor (GTO, in picture) are replaced by IGBT technology (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors). Thanks to their higher efficiency means less waste heat. Overall, the new technology allows savings of 21 GWh / year. |
