KCCX 762, working for Kennecott Copper, was the only electric locomotive I've ever seen. It's working upgrade with a cut of ore cars, literally in the middle of a mountain. I lost count of how many trains, electric- and diesel-powered, were running when I saw this operation. Date is uncertain, but it's probably the summer of 1980 or 1983. |
