Beautiful and massive - best descriptive phrases for this 1928 Alco-Schenectady built Mountain-type locomotive. As one of the late steam engines to be built, it could generate a whopping 265 psi boiler pressure for its pistons. Although the location was not listed, I believe this appears to be the Providence roundhouse - can anyone confirm or deny? Date is approximate and no photographer was listed unfortunately. |
