Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-4 Class S-4 3007 in Chicago, Illinois on June 4, 1960, photograph by R. B., print by Gordon C. Bassett, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 3007 was built by Baldwin in 1930 ( c/n 61528 ), donated to Quincy, Illinois in June 1961, and moved to Griggsville in late 1979/early 1980. It received a cosmetic restoration before being sold by J. L. Wade and it (and the Purple Martin Junction cars) was moved to Atlantic, Iowa. The locomotive and cars were auctioned off in June 1995, and 3007 now resides at the Illinois Railway Museum. |
