Built by GE in 1941 & delivered to the Elwood Ordnance Plant in Wilmington, IL, contractors Sanderson & Porter used the locomotive in the construction of the plant. Upon complete of the plant the locomotive was transferred to the U.S. Army Transportation Corps as No. 7320. In 1956 7320 was transferred to the U. S. Navy for use at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) at Bremerton, WA where it became USN 7320. At PSNS the side rods caused problems (clearance issues) w/ some structures & as a results 7320 was stored. In 1976 7320 was declared surplus & its ownership passed to Washington State Parks who leases it to Northwest Railway Museum. |
