Good Day. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #9394, an ES-12 built by EMD in 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. This photo was taken near the Yard Master's Office, at the very eastern end of South Juniata Street. The Samuel Rea Shop dominates the background. In those days, Diesel locomotives ran all of the time. It was only after the price of oil went way up that the PRR started to turn them off when not working! #1 of 12. |
