As NS prepared to single track the Tier, a project that would not come to fruition for another dozen years, it was replacing signals on the line. There were still a few semaphores, though by this time you could count them on the fingers of one hand. Some of the older target signals also got replaced, among them the eastbound signal on track 2, which had originally been about 1/4 mile farther east. It was replaced by this "Darth Vader" type, which was placed across from the target that stayed here in Campville. We see CP 167 rolling past in the snow of a January day. |
