Section Caption: "On The Horseshoe Curve." Photo Caption: "No. 15 ~ Fast Mail doubleheaded westbound on the Curve. Engines 1517 and 262 ~ about 1922." Both of the locomotives pictured here are Pennsylvania Railroad K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacifics" built in Juniata. #1517 was built during May of 1918 and retired in February of 1958, while #262 was built during May of 1918 and retired in March of 1952. Partially visible at the right is the Kittanning Point Station. |
