Nice looking Alco RS3 unit built in October of 1952 for the Delware & Hudson. This unit as well as its 7 other sisters was rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen between December of 1975 and march of 1976. Larger Alco prime movers were installed as well as raising the long hood 6 inches and moving the dynamic brake cooling box to behind the cab. The D&H later nicknamed these locos as "Club Foots" since they tended to slip under heavy loads. No date or location was given for the photo so approximates were used.
