Illinois Central train No. 2 – the northbound CITY OF NEW ORLEANS – was approaching Carrollton Avenue Station in New Orleans, just a few minutes after leaving Union Passenger Terminal. The 8-car train was powered by an A-B-A set of E-units, led by E9A 4038, and included one of the IC’s six former Missouri Pacific dome cars on the rear. |
