Aziz. Here is the second of two duplicate 35mm color slides via Al Chione that were taken at Sunnyside Yard in Long Island City, New York, c. 1961. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #3966 and #3967. Both are DD-1 (2-B+B-2) boxcabs built in Juniata as number "17" for the New York Terminal Railroad in July of 1910, rated at 2,000 horsepower each, later renumbered "3966" and "3967" respectively, and retired in February of 1963 after 53 years. |
