Here is the first of two original photos by John S. Fisher that were taken in Crestline, Ohio, in October of 1955. Caption On Reverse: "Pennsy K-4 scrap at Crestline, Ohio, October '55." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3874, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1923 and retired in April of 1956 after 33 years of faithful service. Partially visible at the right is one of the PRR's Q-2 (4-4-6-4) "Duplex" locomotives; it's headed to the Recycling Center too! |
