PRSL Atlantic City, #4 of 10, 1948         
Here is the fourth of ten original photos by an unidentified photographer that were taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on 21 February 1948. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1146, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-8B during January of 1911, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-8SB in June of 1920, rebuilt as an H-9S in January of 1928, and retired in September of 1950 after39 years of faithful service. In this context, it's shifting cars at the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines Passenger Station. Gary Mittner Collection.
