BNSF 331 hides behind a chain-link fence at the Interbay deadline. BNSFs Interbay Yard has been home to a small deadline of locomotives for some time, and this GP60B is one of its inhabitants. Most of the engines out of service at Interbay are standard-cab EMD products. Several GP38 variants were present during our visit, along with a single SD40 and SW1200. 331, still in its H1 livery, was one of two GP60Bs parked in the engine terminal. This unusual engine, a cabless variant of the GP60, was one of 23 such units built, and was completed in 1991. These units were exclusive to the Santa Fe, and once wore their red and silver "Super Fleet" warbonnet paint. |
