Here is a photo by Arthur B. Johnson that was taken in Chicago, Illinois, on 21 August 1948. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #31, a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during March of 1916 and retired in May of 1949. Partially visible at the right is PRR engine #9462, an FF-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in January of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in September of 1962. Williams Collection. |
