PRR 999400, MoW Tender, 1965
Title:  PRR 999400, MoW Tender, 1965
Description:  WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona on 28 March 1965. Shown here is PRR #999400, a former steam locomotive tender that has been relegated to Maintenance-of-Way service. Instead of supplying a steam locomotive with water, it's now filled with fuel oil to replenish the steam-heat boilers in GG-1 electrics ~ like #4860, idiling-away on the adjoining track. Photo taken near HARRIS Tower, just West of the Harrisburg Passenger Station.
