Description:  Rainy. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2221, #2431, and #2262. #2221 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2431 is an AF-25 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2262 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound merchandise freight train through the Altoona Passenger Station and under the 12th Street Bridge on their way to Enola and points East. This train seems to have two "sections": the first has 37 cars and N-8 caboose #478086, the second has 35 cars and caboose #477746.

Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2221, #2201, #2202, and #2200. All are EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,200 horsepower each. They are pulling a westbound iron ore train. This photo was taken at the stone quarry crossing, just off of State Route 453.

Description:  AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1967. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2222, #2281, and #2221. All were built by GM-EMD. #2222 and #2221 are EF-22's constructed in April of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each, while #2281 is an EF-25 built in June of 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. In this context, they're rounding the Curve on their way down to East Altoona after finishing a helper/pusher run up "The Mountain." Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware.
