PRR 4350, I-1SA, c. 1954 |
Description: |
Here is an original photo by John S. Fisher that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, in November of 1954. Caption On Reverse: "PRR Classes I and J at the Columbus Yards. November, 1954." Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4350 and an unidentified "J" Class (2-10-4) "Texas" steam locomotive. #4350 is an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during December of 1922, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in November of 1942, and retired in April of 1958 after 36 years of faithful service. Looks to me like they're all fired-up and ready to rock 'n' roll! |
