CR GG1 #4850         
A very moody photo of a line of GG1's sitting just outside the Harrisburg, PA, station, probably the beginning of the scrap line that would start with the change-over in the power grid that sidelined most of the GG1's. The date for this photo is approximate. The loco was built by the PRR Altoona shops and Westinghouse in May of 1935 and served not only the Pennsy but Penn Central and eventually Conrail. It was formally retired in February of 1980. An unknown photographer took this photo.
