| Description: |
24th Street. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 November 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7004 and #7005. Both are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD in October of 1955 and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. They've just come down the eastern slope of the Allegheny Mountains with an 80-car fully-loaded mineral train, and are passing under 24th Street Bridge on their way to the Eastbound Receiving Yards in Altoona. The cabin car is #477719. |
